Good, honest service.
We had a bowed bottom panel on our garage door, and others had told us that there was nothing we could do but replace the whole door for serious cost. Chris came and took a look and was able to replace a beam on the door to straighten it out and make it run smoothly again. Many thanks to Chris and the guys at Brooks Overhead for their good, honest service when others were trying to price gouge.
Steve Brooks is beyond 5 stars. Called him late on Friday afternoon. He diagnosed with photos from me that my steel garage door w wood on the outside (very heavy door) had four broken springs. A technician who was on site by 9am the next day provided me options. The best choice for me was to replace the door.
This is an outstanding company.
Chris, Steve's son, did a great job fixing our door! Our garage door belt opener tore and our door was no longer opening automatically. Their quote was the best around and they were able to come out the following day. This was soon after Hurricane Harvey. He also sprayed our rusty springs, tightened them, and gave us some pointers on maintenance. We were incredibly impressed with everything. Highly recommend!
Well, I had to have Brooks out here again because somebody vandalized my garage door and damaged it. Just like before, he got out here in a timely fashion , fixed the problem quickly and thoroughly, and didn't break the bank in the process! I can't recommend Brooks Overhead enough.
He did a basic tune and lube on our garage door and he is fast with his work and has sufficiently good knowledge base. The only Con I can say is that he appears to be going too fast with his work sometimes.
I've used this company two-times. The first time was a shot-in-the-dark, no recommendation and I can't recall where I found them--they were called Brooks Brothers but that was before they were asked to change the name because you know I always think of my $1000 suits and garage doors together, so it might muddy the brand.
But anyway I found all this out when he came back the second time--years later because of some plastic component that just wears out but bingo he had the part, fixed my opener and placed a new sticker below the button--with the new name. I called them back because they were professional, genuine and honest.
Funny thing... I was searching Yelp for remodelers and this company came up, when I saw all the 5-stars I just had to keep the trend. You won't find a better company
I'd been putting off getting my jammed garage door fixed. Some rollers were off the tracks, one side spring broken, and I hadn't been able to use the garage for months, but was afraid it would be a huge expense for total replacement.
I found Brooks Overhead here on Yelp, also checking that yes, they're clean with the BBB.
Steve came the very next morning, took off the side springs, which were a pointless mis-installation, and totally disassembled and re-installed the door, properly attaching and tightening the central torsion spring. Now it works smooth, like a charm, and the charge was in the low three figures. I'm astounded and delighted, and it all took less than two hours.
Is there ever a good time for your garage door to stop working? Absolutely not, and chances are, it'll happen at the most inconvenient times. Luckily Steve was quick to answer my call and readily available for an appointment the next day. He zoomed into my complex, took one look at the broken spring and got to work with the repair. 15 minutes later I'm writing him a check for $229 to replace both springs and he's on his way. If anything ever happens to my garage door again, I'll definitely be giving the dude a call!
Our garage door broke yesterday. Steve diagnosed the problem over the phone and came over first thing the next morning. He replaced our spring and balanced the door all in under 20 minutes. Fantastic service, great prices. If you ever have any garage door issues, the Garage Door Dude is your man.

It's not often you rate someone that didn't actually perform a service for you but this company is 5 stars. I called in needing to replace my garage door sensors because I attempted to do this on my own and could not get the replacements to work. When I called in he actually told me how to take care of the issue over the phone and save myself the money on a service trip. It's not often you will find a contractor that is willing to offer this kind of help. I would highly recommend this company based on their honesty and helpfulness I received, and if I need a major garage door repair I will absolutely call these guys!
listen, i wish that your garage door would give notice when its going to completely destroy your day - but it won't and that is when Steve comes to the rescue. Random tuesday morning, my garage door opens but won't shut, need to go to work, drop a friend to the airport and generally go about my life.
I pulled the string and the door closed (i could not get it open again to save my life) and then i called Steve (from yelp reviews no less!). He was at the bank but still picked up his phone - told me he would be there in 45 min -- he was there in 30!
In 20 minutes the problem is fixed, the broken spring is fixed and the price was $229 (which was less than others had quoted).
Exceptional work, very professional, told me how to maintain the spring and my life doesn't have to be on hold! Would recommend him to anyone and he's been added to my "numbers to keep"
As everyone has said here, these guys definitely deserve five stars. Our garage door was falling due to faulty rollers, and we called our usual garage door repair man, but he had trouble with his car. After waiting for him all day, we searched for another alternative and found Brooks Overhead! We called them and set the appointment for the following day, in fact they were willing to come that same evening, but since it was dark and had rained, we preferred to have it done during daylight hours. They gave us a quote of $200, and next morning they came as promised. Dwaine the technician assessed the problem and fixed it within ten minutes! Because the repair was so simple, he felt bad charging us $200 and instead charged us only $100! He was very knowledgable and extremely funny! Very nice guy. Not once did he ever try to force any new items on us, and instead offered to just give our almost twenty year old garage door a quick fix, but we decided it be better to change it altogether. We have an appointment set for next Saturday. Overall we are incredibly pleased with their service and feel very lucky to have found them :). We will definitely consult them for any future problems.

Jesus the technician arrived on time and started working on replacing our torsion system. He was very respectful, courteous and was very experienced. He explained what he was going to do and how he'll do it. He finished the job in less than an hour and made sure the place was clean after. Would highly recommend to anyone!

I called at 8 am and they just left my house at 11:20 am. Talk about fast service! I just had to mention that my car was stuck in the garage and they came out right away.Totally reasonable price. $229 to replace a broken coil and service it up. Sounds so quiet now!
We found Steve to be helpful and knowledgeable when we called to inquire about garage door services. The Yelp reviews seemed good too, so we went ahead and scheduled. He arrived on time and got right to it - lubricated, adjusted, and tested our ailing garage door ... even got new rollers that were badly worn. Now our door works much better, and we would recommend Garage Door Dude!
What a relief it is to run across a business that really is priced right and does what they say without LIES! I read Yelps reviews for Brooks Overhead and figured it was the best chance for quality at an affordable price and I was definitely not disappointed, with the company or the reviewers Steve Brooks gave me a better price than others and a higher quality setup on a new garage door than I expected, even though he had 5 star reviews. Steves employee Armando was about the nicest young man I have met. He is tall and with his skills , he finished my door in under 2 hours. Super awesome and friendly guy! Came out and checked out our door motor. The dude - Steve - had an answer and solution within a couple minutes. He told us what motor we had to get and in a couple days he came back and replaced it. It was so quick! Thanks a bunch!
Stumbled upon Brooks Overhead when I was looking on Yelp for another contractor. Based on the five star reviews I saw, I remembered that and called them when the torsion spring on my garage door broke. Steve answered right away and he was able to come by the same day. I was impressed that he got it done fast. He even lubricated parts that needed it and made adjustments to the door and opener to make sure the door was in good shape. These guys were great! We had an appointment at 8:00am. He showed up on time, was super polite, fixed our problem, recommended a preventative maintenance fix and we super reasonable with pricing. Will definitely call them again if I have a need.
My garage one day broke, so I went to Yelp and found Steve. Based on his reviews, I felt confident he was the one and he absolutely deserves all 5 stars. I called him on a Monday morning and he was able to meet me the same day at noon, which was great. Steve came over right on time and knew exactly what was wrong at first glance and went after it. I had a broken spring and he charged me $169, which is a great price. He was in and out in a little under an hour and I was able to get back to work in no time. Steve was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I will only use Steve for all my future garage door needs and will always willingly refer him!

My garage door was a mess and I needed it fixed immediately so I got on to trusty Yelp and found Steve Brooks. He came out the same day and fixed my garage door within 20 min and he even fixed my garage door opener for no extra charge! My garage door spring broke this morning - car stuck in the garage. I called a few places and then saw the reviews on Yelp for Brooks Overhead. Steve said he would be out this afternoon and fix it. He was here about 45 minutes - fixed the spring, fixed the brace, changed the lightbulbs and all for the price he quoted.
I would definitely do business with him again.

Steve Brooks, The Garage Door Dude is the best. Had issues with my Dad's door in Friendswood. He provided fast prompt service, replaced the springs, serviced and adjusted the door and was on his way. I described my doors since the spring was different and he explained what he would need to do if the springs broke, it was good information to know for future reference. I will use The Garage Door Dude again, just hopefully not too quickly.

My car was held captive in the garage with a broken garage door! I called Steve and he worked with me to arrange a same day appointment that fit into my schedule. His estimate was more than fair. Unfortunately the job was more challenging than expected but he kept at it until the job was done CORRECTLY. In spite of the time consuming work he stayed true to his estimate. I cannot recommend this business enough. You will not be disappointed.
